It was a case of continued dominance from Alvaro Bautista in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) superpole race, taking a commanding victory as Australia’s Remy Gardner crashed out at turn four.

Bautista proved too fast for his rivals once he was able to assert himself at the front, ultimately taking a 2.462s victory ahead of Michael Rinaldi who made an Aruba.it Racing Ducati 1-2.

Six-tenths adrift of Rinaldi was Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon), leading Kawasaki Racing Team’s Alex Lowes and Italian Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) at the conclusion of the bout. Top Independent team rider Philipp Oettl (Team Go Eleven) took the chequered flag in sixth, with Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), Iker Lecuona (Team HRC), Axel Bassani and Michael van der Mark (BMW) completing the top 10.

Unfortunately for Australia’s Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha) he fell at turn four while fighting in the podium group, colliding with his teammate Dominque Aegerter as he tried to slip up the inside into Miller corner.
