GYTR GRT Yamaha rider Remy Gardner completed what was a positive Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) test at Catalunya and believes he and the team are moving in the right direction ahead of the next round in The Netherlands.

Circulating over 150 laps across the outing at the circuit in Barcelona, Gardner improved to a 1m41.294s on day two which slotted him into 10th at the conclusion of the test, just over eighth-tenths from pace-setter Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing Ducati).

“Overall it was a good test, we worked quite well and we had good pace in the final part,” Gardner said. “We were quite fast with the softer tyre, we needed to find the speed and I think we did it.

“Also, we focused on finding a solution to the past problems we had and we think we’re heading in the right direction. We tested some parts as well and we’ll try to be as ready as possible for the next round in The Netherlands.”

Gardner currently sits 13th in the 2023 WorldSBK standings, achieving a best result of P7 in the season to date in race two at Mandalika despite starting from the rear of the grid and battling sickness. Round three of the championship takes place at Assen between 21-23 April.
