Australia’s Senna Agius will compete in the Moto2 World Championship this weekend at Jerez as a fill-in for the injured Darryn Binder at the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP team.

Agius was second in the European Moto2 Championship last year with Promo Racing and switched to the Intact GP squad to compete again in the series this season.

He also contested four Moto2 World Championship races last year with the Elf Marc VDS Racing team, and filling in for the injured Sam Lowes he scored a best result of P9 in Valencia. Seeing the 2023 European Moto2 Championship has not yet started, his call-up to compete in round four of the world championship will mark his first competitive outing with the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP team.

“Firstly I want to wish Darryn Binder a speedy recovery with his injury,” Agius shared. “On the other hand I need to thank Intact GP for giving me the opportunity to step in this weekend.”

“I didn’t expect my first race of the season with this new team to be in Moto2 World Championship but I will work the best I can all weekend and do my best!”
