Injuries sustained testing for ASBK round five at Queensland venue.
Surgery is on the cards for Australian Supersport contender Sean Condon after falling while testing at the second round of the 2023 Southern Downs Road Race Championship at Morgan Park.
During the penultimate Formula 2 (600cc) race on Sunday, Condon was leading when he crashed at turn three, resulting in a broken tibia and ligament damage.
“Unfortunately whilst testing at round two of the Southern Downs Road Race Championship in preparation for round five of the ASBK, I crashed at turn three and took a wild ride through the gravel trap which resulted in a broken tibia & ligament damage,” Condon shared.
“Surgery today and a long road to recovery. Thank you to everyone that helped out to get me medical attention & packed me up to get home.”
Condon’s bike also sustained damage as it cartwheeled spectacularly after the fall, with a targeted return date not yet specified by the number 26. Mi-Bike Australian Superbike Championship support classes will be absent from Hidden Valley, meaning Morgan Park will host the next round of the Australian Supersport Championship between 14-16 July.
