European Moto2 Championship leader Senna Agius delivered a perfect weekend at Portimao, topping practice, qualifying and both races to extend his advantage at the head of the standings.

Agius (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team) was fastest in practice with a 1m44.175s and improved in qualifying to a 1m43.347s to secure pole position ahead of Carlos Tatay.

Leading each lap in race one, Agius took a convincing 11.788s victory ahead of Alberto Surra (Team Ciatti-Bosco Scuro) and continued his dominance in race two with a 5.5s victory ahead of Xavier Cardelus (Promo Racing). The number 81 has won six from six races in the class so far this year and holds a 61-point lead ahead of Cardelus in the standings.

“We worked really hard this weekend to be solid over race distance,” Agius shared. “Therefore I was super happy with my pace over the two races. A true thank you goes to my Intact Junior GP Team for their work this weekend. Leaving Portimao with 50 points towards the championship is important going into the back half of the year!”

Also competing in the European Moto2 Championship, Australian Harrison Voight (Yamaha Philippines Stylobike Racing Team) charged from 10th to fifth in the opening stages of race one, before crashing while avoiding debris from a fallen a bike.

A front brake issue caused him to stop in race two and while recent runs have been challenging for the Moto2 rookie, he showcased his potential with a third-place result on debut at Estoril.

In the JuniorGP World Championship, Jacob Roulstone (Aspar Junior Team) notched 9-15 results while Angus Grenfell (Artbox) finished 22nd in race two. Carter Thompson (AGR Team) finished 19th in the European Talent Cup race while Archie McDonald was fourth in the Stock 600 class.
