A triple victory for Jason O’Halloran at Thruxton sees the Australian become Yamaha’s most successful British Superbike Championship (BSB) rider in terms of race wins.

O’Halloran delivered nothing short of a dominant weekend at round seven, qualifying on pole for Saturday and then taking victory in the sprint race, plus charging his way forward to take wins in races two and three.

His success at Thruxton sees him take his winning tally to 25 for the manufacturer, eclipsing triple champion Niall Mackenzie to become Yamaha’s most successful race winner in the championship.

“That’s the best weekend of my career, coming off the back of a couple of average rounds to bounce back like this is exactly what we needed,” said O’Halloran.

“We’ve clawed a lot of points back this weekend with pole position and three race wins which is incredible. I’m now Yamaha’s most successful rider in terms of race wins and have 26 BSB wins [25 on the Yamaha R1] which is just incredible.

“And I’ve won eight of the last nine races at Thruxton which is another amazing stat! This is exactly what the team needed and I think we can carry this momentum forward now to Cadwell Park which is my favourite race of the year.”

The British Superbike Championship resumes at Cadwell Park on 26-28 August, with O’Halloran elevating to third in the standings following the seventh round of the season.
