The future of Moto3 talent Joel Kelso is currently unclear as he hasn’t secured a spot in the world championship for next year.

Kelso, 20, has shown no shortage of speed on a Moto3 bike, scoring victories in highly-rated championships such as the CEV before stepping up to compete full-time on the world stage in 2022.

He scored a best result of P8 last year with the CIP Green Power team, and after making the move to the CFMOTO PruestelGP squad for 2023, he has delivered four front-row qualifying performances.

Aggression in the races has been a key area Kelso has identified to improve, and the number 66 has managed two top-10 results in the season so far – P9 at Portimao and Assen. While his ambitions remain high, his current direction for next year is not yet confirmed.

“As some of you may already know, I haven’t secured a spot in the upcoming world championship next season,” said Kelso. “However, I firmly believe that when one door closes, another one opens. I am determined to continue giving my utmost effort, dedicating myself to achieving my goals until the very end. Let’s keep pushing forward together!”

Eight races remain in the 2023 Moto3 World Championship, with Kelso’s next outing coming at the grand prix of India, set to be contested between 22-24 September at the Buddh International Circuit.
