Australia’s Tom Toparis secured third place in the 2023 British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch, also landing on the podium in the final round of the BSB season with a P3 result in race one.

Toparis charged to a P3 result in the tricky mixed conditions during the opening bout, and despite a DNF in the feature race, he held enough of an advantage to secure a spot on the series podium.

It’s a commendable achievement for the 23-year-old, with the 2023 season marking his first full-year back since being sidelined for an extensive period to correct growth arrest in his arm.

His immediate focus now turns to the sixth round of the 2023 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) at Phillip Island, which he will contest in the Supersport category with the 666 Racing Stop & Seal team.

Fellow Australian Ben Currie (Oxford Products Racing Ducati) wrapped up the BSB Supersport title back at Donington Park, and went from P27 on the grid to finish sixth in the sprint race, before suffering a DNF in the feature. Seth Crump (Yamaha) notched 18-11 results to conclude the season at Brands Hatch.

In the National Superstock category, Superbike-bound Billy McConnell (C&L Fairburn Properties Jackson Racing) scored a win in race one, and was fifth in the final race of the season.
