British Superbike Championship (BSB) rider Jason O’Halloran has completed his first laps onboard the Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki, commencing a shakedown at Donington in preparation for next year.

Spending five seasons with McAMS Yamaha in BSB, O’Halloran announced the switch to Kawasaki after it was confirmed that Raceways Motorcycles would step down from its role running the official Yamaha Motor UK team upon the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Shortly following the final round of this year’s championship at Brands Hatch, O’Halloran took to the track at Donington with his new team to get a headstart on preparations for next season.

“First day out on the Kawasaki yesterday,” O’Halloran said. “Massive thanks to the guys for packing up from Brands and going straight to Donington. We had one day off and we were out on track.

“Got started nice and early, after five years on the Yamaha it was perfect to get out straight away, just get my first feelings on the bike and how it is different to what I have been riding.

“Obviously I have got a new team, new people to work with so we need to build that relationship and it’s ideal to get started so early. Just worked through normal stuff yesterday, like just getting comfy on the bike, seating position, bar position, levers, all the normal stuff that you do when you jump onto a new bike, and just getting our first bit of data to have a look at to see how I ride the bike different to the other guys that have been on it the last few years.”

“Good for me to get a feeling, but also good for the team to have a look at the way that I ride the bike, have a think about it then we can make a bit of a plan for our first proper test. Great to get out so early, really enjoyed it, and look forward to what is to come.”

With five race wins to his credit throughout the year, O’Halloran ultimately finished P6 in the 2023 BSB standings, with the first round of the 2024 season set to take place at Circuito de Navarra, Spain, between 20-21 April.
