The future of in-form Fabio Di Giannantonio is secure for the 2024 MotoGP World Championship as he will remain on Ducati machinery and make the switch to the Mooney VR46 Racing Team.

This season marked Di Giannantonio’s second in MotoGP, however, his future became unclear after it was confirmed Marc Marquez would exit his Repsol Honda Team contract a year early to join the Gresini Racing team.

Di Giannantonio intially appeared to be the favourite to fill Marquez’s vacant seat, but as time passed Luca Marini emerged as the racer would join the factory Honda outfit next year.

The number 49 has delivered spirited performances in the final stages of this year’s championship, including a career first MotoGP podium at Phillip Island, plus his maiden premier class victory at Qatar. Now, it has been revealed that he has inked a deal to join Marco Bezzecchi within the VR46 team for 2024.

“I’m happy to join such a strong Team as the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, I can learn a lot and I can’t wait to start working together on this project, we can do really good things. In the last two seasons in MotoGP, I have grown a lot and in this team I will certainly be able to mature further and achieve great results. I’m excited, I can’t wait to meet all my new staff and crew and start working on the track. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.”

Di Giannantonio’s first outing with the Mooney VR46 Racing Team will be Tuesday at the Valencia post-season test.
