Teenager charges to top 10 result at the British grand prix.
Australian Senna Agius will remain on the Moto2 World Championship grid for the 2025 season after securing a contract extension with Intact GP, the rookie landing a top 10 result at the British grand prix on Sunday.
Agius initially joined the Intact GP squad in 2023 as part of its European Moto2 Championship campaign, where he went on to win the title amongst a selection of impressive guest rides in the world championship, which ultimately saw him promoted to the category full-time this year as part of the Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP Moto2 outfit.
The 19-year-old has made a strong impression so far in 2024 earning a total of 32 championship points to be positioned 15th in the standings, with a season-best result of fifth coming at Catalunya’s sixth round back in May.
“I am very happy that the team has the confidence in me to let me show my potential next season,” Agius stated. “A big thank you to Jurgen [Lingg], Stefan [Keckeisen], Wolfgang [Kuhn] and everyone at Intact GP who believes in me. It’s been a very good start to the season for a rookie and I think we can build on that next year.”
The New South Welshman justified the contract extension at Silverstone’s 10th round, starting 20th on the grid before charging to a rewarding P10 at the conclusion of the 17-lap encounter.
