Yamaha-bound rider inside the points at Catalunya's championship decider.
Departing Red Bull KTM Factory Racing entry Jack Miller has reflected on his final season with the Austrian manufacturer as he moves across to Prima Pramac Racing for 2025 aboard Yamaha machinery.
The popular Queenslander admittedly endured a challenging 2024 campaign, which almost saw him without a MotoGP for next year, marking his second season onboard the KTM RC16.
Despite promising signs in the opening 12 months of the project, Miller and KTM struggled to deliver a competitive package in year two that yielded a season-best result of fifth while finishing 14th in the championship standings.
“No denying we weren’t quite where we wanted to be this year,” Miller admitted. “I felt we made good progress at different points but were just not able to fully nail it. The crew worked tirelessly alongside me, and I can’t thank them enough for all their efforts.
“When I came across to the orange squad we knew it would be a bit of a project, although in ‘23 we managed to score some decent results including a podium in Jerez, whilst continuing to develop the RC16.
“This year was obviously a more challenging one, however as I said, super thankful to the entire crew for giving me the chance and working tirelessly to be competitive.”
The Australian wrapped up his time with the factory KTM squad by scoring a P13 result in Sunday’s grand prix at Catalunya, which comes ahead of his return to the Pramac outfit as it transitions from Ducati to Yamaha for 2025.
