Australian teenager inside the top 10 at Catalunya season-finale.
Jacob Roulstone has expressed satisfaction in completing his rookie Moto3 World Championship campaign ‘on a high’ at Catalunya’s season-finale on the weekend, the teenager registering yet another top 10 result.
The Australian, who’ll remain with the Red Bull Tech3 squad in 2025 as it transitions from GasGas to KTM branding, started Sunday’s 18-lap grand prix from the third row in P9 before battling for position, ultimately crossing the chequered in eighth.
It caps off a positive maiden season in the world championship that saw the number 12 earn several top finishes, and despite dealing with numerous injuries, Roulstone was credited with a ranking of 15th in the standings.
“Quite happy to finish the season on a high like this,” Roulstone stated. “To be eighth after some struggles is great and I think the team are happy. I tried to make positions as quick as I could today and pleased that Dani [Holgado] is second in the championship.
“I got used to the late, aggressive moves into turn one. Overall, an up and down season and I’m proud of how I was able to come back and overcome the difficulties I was having. A big thanks to the team and those who helped me and supported me. I think we have a lot of potential for some big goals next year.”
Compatriot Joel Kelso was 12th at the weekend’s finale, marking an incredible season that saw him ranked ninth in the championship standings as he departs BOE Motorsports for the LevelUp MTA Team in 2025.
