BCperformance Kawasaki will trial Olly Simpson alongside the returning Hayden Nelson at Phillip Island ahead of this weekend’s Victorian championship round, which comes following a short-lived association with Tom Bramich.

Bramich was announced to be teaming up with BCperformance on Ninja ZX-6R machinery at the beginning of the year, but they instead opted to mutually split soon afterwards.

“After a recent test with Tom Bramich, it was mutually decided not to continue our partnership together for the 2025 Australian Supersport Championship,” a statement from the team announced. “The team would like to wish Tom all the best for the 2025 ASBK season.”

Now, current national Supersport number three Simpson – like Bramich, also usually Yamaha-equipped – will spend two days with the team in a bid to see if he’s able to gel with the Kawasaki ahead of next month’s opening round of the Mi-Bike Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) at the Victorian venue.

“Our second race weekend of the year is looking pretty exciting for the BCperformance Kawasaki team,” a social media post from the team revealed. “Joining Hayden Nelson for today and Friday only is 27-year-old Olly Simpson.

“We will use these two days of practice at the Victorian Road Racing Championship as a test for both Olly and the team… watch this space. Either way, we are excited to have you onboard.”
