Australian comfortable with early strides made on Yamaha YZR-M1.
After a challenging 2024 MotoGP season, experienced Australian Jack Miller has praised his updated surroundings, noting positive steps forward during the latest test aboard his Yamaha YZR-M1 2025.
A reunion of sorts with the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team, Miller will be aiming to cultivate the consistency that alluded him particularly in his final season with KTM, as vibration and inconsistent feel, combined with a handful of falls resulted in a 14th place position in the season standings.
“I am happy with the performance of the bike,” Miller revealed. “Testing on the same track for a few days allowed us to improve the feeling with the motorcycle, and gave us the chance to try some different settings to see how the bike would react.”
“We still have room for improvement, but to be in the low 1 ’57” at Sepang is something that we can be happy about as a team. Our interest will now shift to Burriam, as that’s quite a different circuit so it’ll be interesting to see how the bike reacts.”
Parallels can be drawn from both Miller and Yamaha’s timelines, as the duo work to return to the front of the MotoGP field, which is a task that is no easy feat considering the dominance of Ducati in recent years.
Nevertheless, forming a strategic partnership with the Pramac outfit, alongside the signing of an established MotoGP star in Miller, signifies the brand’s commitment to fighting for World Championships in the future.
Riders and teams alike have one more official MotoGP test scheduled for the 12-13 of February in Burriam before the Grand Prix of Thailand kicks off the 2025 season from February 28th – 2nd of March.
