Longtime Australian international Tom Edwards will make his Mi-Bike Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) debut at the Phillip Island opener, set to contest the 2025 season with the all-new Motoschool team on Yamaha machinery.

Edwards, 23, returns home off the back of two consecutive seasons in the World Supersport Challenge, where he finished second in the championship both times.

“I’m incredibly excited to make my Australian Superbike debut with Motoschool,” said Edwards. “I’ve been fortunate to race on amazing tracks around the world, but there’s nothing like racing at home. Phillip Island is such an iconic track, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to race in front of a home crowd.

“This opportunity is a huge milestone in my career and I’m grateful to Haydan and the Motoschool team for giving me this opportunity as well as my sponsors for their continued support. I’m determined to make the most of it!”

Motoschool CEO Haydan Parker added: “Racing in the Australian Superbike Championship feels like a natural progression for Motoschool. This has been a project I have been shaping for some time and I wanted to ensure we had not only the right riders, but team sponsors and personnel involved in this campaign.

“I have made a commitment to all involved to be in Australian motorcycle racing for the long-term and while we initially intended to start only in Supersport 300 and support riders in Oceania Junior Cup, however serendipitously with Tom Edwards returning to Australia after many successful years in World Superbike paddock, we felt compelled to change our plans and bring him on board for his first outing on a Superbike in ASBK.

“Tom is a fantastic rider with proven talent on the international stage, I feel we have prepared and given him the equipment and resources to challenge for a championship and I look forward to revealing our teams livery and bikes in the coming weeks. It’s a very exciting time for Motoschool.”

The Motoschool team will consist of five riders, with Edwards leading the program in the premier Superbike category, while Oscar Lewis, Zane Beckinsale and Elijah Andrew will contest the Supersport 300 class. Plus, Connor Lewis will race the Oceania Junior Cup.
