Third-place finish in race two shows encouraging direction for the Australian racer.
Australian international Remy Gardner returned to the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) podium with a strong third-place finish in the final race at Assen, marking his first top-three result of the 2025 season.
The GYTR GRT Yamaha rider showed steady progress across the weekend at the iconic Dutch circuit, claiming an eighth-place finish in the opening encounter.
After a damp superpole race where he secured seventh, Gardner lined up well for race two and made the most of it with a fast launch off the line.
“What a relief!” Gardner commented post-race. “The superpole race wasn’t too bad in the wet, though the last laps were tough to manage. Still, I held on to secure a decent spot on the race two grid. In the final race, I got a great start and was able to battle for the win early on, staying up front until the end.
“We did get a bit lucky with Nicolò’s [Bulega] retirement, but it was still a strong race and a big improvement over Saturday. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum going into the next rounds.”
Gardner fought inside the lead group from the outset, going toe-to-toe with front-runners Andrea Locatelli, Álvaro Bautista and Nicolò Bulega. A consistent performance saw him maintain pace and composure across the 21-lap distance to secure a well-earned podium finish.
The result caps off an encouraging weekend for the Australian, who now looks to carry that momentum into the next round of the Superbike World Championship in Cremona, Italy on May 2 – 4.
