Youthful talent Cameron Swain has made the call to step away from the World Supersport 300 (WorldSSP300) Championship in 2025, announcing his departure from the Yamaha Motoxracing Team as he returns home to Australia to continue his career.

After a promising initial showing in Europe highlighted by a standout victory in the FIM R3 BLU CRU World Cup at Magny-Cours last year, the 16-year-old is instead turning his attention to the ASBK Supersport 600 category, where he plans to regroup.

“I have made the decision to withdraw from the Motoxracing team in the World Supersport 300 championship,” Swain commented. “I have made this decision, as I believe it is the best option for my career moving forward – I assure everyone that I am not giving up, and will reset and come back stronger.”

Prior to Swain’s world championship debut, he was a standout in the national paddock, capturing the R3 Cup title in 2023, which came in addition to his BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup championship won in 2021.

“I thank everyone for their support, and especially my incredible sponsors who I have discussed this decision with, and who have all shown me nothing but support in choosing the best outcome for me moving forward,” he added.

After finishing ninth overall in the R3 World Cup last year, Swain’s best finish two rounds into the 2025 WorldSSP300 series was 18th in race two at Portimao’s season-opening round late last month.
