A late engine brake issue left Prima Pramac Racing’s Jack Miller unhappy with his closing laps at Brno on Sunday, conceding two positions on his way to a 10th-place finish in the Grand Prix of Czechia.

Prima Pramac’s Jack Miller has indicated that he was ‘not happy’ with his final laps during Sunday’s Czechia GP, with the Australian experiencing an engine brake issue that saw him concede two positions and resulted in a 10th place finish.

Miller climbed from P10 to eighth on the opening lap of the GP, holding firm inside the top 10 as he trailed reigning MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) for the majority of the 21-lap encounter.

In the closing stages, however, the 30-year-old would experience dramas with his YZR-M1, later revealing that his engine brake felt non-existent as he struggled to defend under braking. Having to ‘reinvent’ his riding, Miller ultimately reached the chequered flag with a P10 result.

“It was a long and tough race,” Miller recounted. “I had a decent start and was feeling pretty good – we were very conservative, not being completely sure about the tyres. I found a good rhythm behind Jorge, and everything was fine until about seven laps from the end. I changed the engine brake setting, and pretty much at the same time, I started to struggle in turn three.

“The clutch was kind of binding up, basically not giving me any engine braking. It was even difficult to tell which gear I was in, as you couldn‘t really feel the downshifts, so I had to reinvent my riding in those final laps, which was tough.

“I had been able to brake pretty late to defend against overtaking moves, but once the issue started, I had to leave some margin and became vulnerable to Brad [Binder] and Pol [Espargaro] catching me. I’m not happy with the last three laps, but it is what it is.”

Miller’s result at the recently resurfaced Brno circuit marks his fourth top 10 finish of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship after 12 rounds, with the series now entering its annual summer break before recommencing in Austria on August 15-17. He sits 14th in the standings
