Former Moto2 champion to remain on R1 for two more seasons.
Australian international Remy Gardner will remain with Yamaha Motor Europe in the FIM Superbike World Championship through the 2026 and 2027 seasons, having signed a two-year contract extension to continue on YZF-R1 machinery.
Gardner – who made the switch from MotoGP to WorldSBK in 2023 – will remain on the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team in 2026.
The 2021 Moto2 world champion has continued to show promise throughout the 2025 season, highlighted by a career-best podium at the TT Circuit Assen – his second since entering the category.
This new agreement will see Gardner enter a fourth season with Yamaha, as both rider and team look to build on the progress made so far and challenge more consistently at the front of the field.
“I am happy to be continuing with Yamaha in WorldSBK,” commented the 27-year-old. “Our journey together so far has been good, but I still feel that we are only scratching the surface of what we can achieve.
“We’ve shown that when everything comes together, we can be quick and fight for the podium. My target is to do this more consistently over the remainder of the 2025 season and look towards taking a further step in 2026.”
As the season enters its second half, Gardner currently sits 11th in the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship standings, as he continues to show flashes of potential in his third year aboard the YZF-R1.
