Current Mi-bike Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) national number three Broc Pearson says ‘this year has been a little deflating’ after a challenging start to the 2025 season, with a single podium his highlight from last time out at Morgan Park.

The DesmoSport Ducati rider concluded last year’s series with a round victory in the penultimate stop at One Raceway, which was complemented by a further three overall podium finishes and two individual race wins.

A highly-documented switch from Magneti Marelli electronics to the MoTec package for this year has generated a difficult period of adjustment, with the 24-year-old admitting that he’s been left deflated after four rounds of racing to date.

“Coming off Morgan Park, it was refreshing to get back on the podium and take something positive from the weekend,” commented Pearson. “If I’m honest, this year has been a little deflating because of how strong the results were at the end of last year – we really wanted to continue that winning run.

“Changing to MoTeC this year has added some challenges, and the first six months haven’t shaped up how we all wanted, but leaving Morgan Park with two podiums lifts the whole team.”

A 2-3 scorecard for second overall was a welcome return to form for Pearson and his Panigale V4 R at Morgan Park, with the Queenslander eyeing another strong performance at this weekend’s fifth round as he sits fourth in the overall Superbike standings.

“We’ll be racing in front of my family, friends, and all our home fans at Queensland Raceway [this weekend],” he added. “When you factor in the V8 Supercars, it adds an extra layer of excitement for everyone.”
