Multiple Australian champion Bryan Staring departs the second MotoGP test of 2013 at Sepang in Malaysia satisfied with progress made with Team GO&FUN Gresini Honda.

It was a positive second outing of the pre-season for Staring, the Australian rookie continuing his adaptation to MotoGP and to the team, riding the CRT entry alongside Alvaro Bautosta.

Staring posted a fastest lap of 2:05.313, 2.4 seconds off the pace of CRT leader Randy De Puniet on the ART Aprilia.

“It has been another important test for me,” Staring said. “I feel more confident on the bike and I have learnt a lot about how to ride it and understand it, as well as getting a feeling for how the team works.

“They have been a great help to me and I am sure that in future we will be able to take bigger steps. I am going home feeling satisfied and looking forward to my future in MotoGP.”

Team owner Fausto Gresini was also content with the progress made by Staring on his second visit to Sepang.

“Bryan has made good progress and he adapted even more to MotoGP,” the Italian explained. “He is still struggling a little bit, but I am sure he can take another step at the next test and continue to improve. Overall it has been a very positive test for us.”

Testing will resume at Jerez in Spain on 23-25 March, the final test of the 2013 pre-season.
