The Throttle Jockeys Arena was a hit at Symmons Plains under the tutelage of Wayne Maxwell and Robbie Bugden.

A range of new interactive initiatives for fans will be showcased at the next round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) at Queensland Raceway from 14-16 June.

Kids and their parents eager to take the first step towards riding a motorcycle can take advantage of the purpose-built Throttle Jockeys Arena.

The enclosed inflatable ‘race track’ will ensure a safe riding experience, and will be visited by a handful of the country’s top ASBK riders including Jamie Stauffer and Wayne Maxwell throughout the weekend.

“This is a fantastic initiative and a great starting point for children who want to ride motorcycles,” said Stauffer. “As a parent your kids are always coming to you saying they want to try new things.

“This gives parents the chance to let the kids try riding in a controlled environment without the expense of buying the equipment straight up.

“It is great to to see the kids having fun and with the blow up walls it is the perfect first place to learn to ride.”

The event will coincide with the national media launch of Suzuki’s 2013 Hayabusa, with a show and shine of fans’ Haybusa machines to sit adjacent to the factory team’s garage on Sunday.

There is also the chance for racegoers to win a pillion ride with CM Racing’s Chas Hern on race day. Raffle tickets are available to purchase throughout the weekend, with all profits to be donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The event marks the third round of 2013 and will see the Moto3/125GP, 250 Production, 250 Production Women’s and Sports Racer classes on track for the first time this year alongside the Superbike, Supersport and Prostock categories.
