Moto2 race winner Anthony West will line up on the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship grid at Silverstone this weekend with the Tsingtao MV Agusta team to finish the season with the Hampshire-based team.

The Australian brings to the team a wealth of experience having competed at the top level of grand prix racing during his career and secured five podium finishes in the 250cc Grand Prix class, including a win at Assen.

West has also celebrated victories in the World Supersport Championship before his most recent appearances in the Moto2 World Championship, returning to the top step of the podium at Assen in 2014 with the QMMF Racing team.

West said: “I am happy to be getting back on a bike and racing again this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the MV is to ride and what it is like to race in the British Championship. It’s a good way to help me make my decision on what I will do next season. I just hope myself and the bike can put together a good race and put it on the podium.”

Team owner Dave Tyson commented: “I am really happy with the signing of Ant and it shows how committed the team is to this project and working to develop the MV. MV have given us further support ahead of this weekend and we will also have some 2016 spec parts for Brands Hatch to test. I am confident that Ant will be at the sharp end and show the potential of the bike.”

The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship visits Silverstone Circuit on 2-4 October for the penultimate round of the Showdown and 2015 season.
