Levy makes first WorldSSP appearance

Landbridge Racing press release:

Landbridge Racing and Mitch Levy have completed their first official World Supersport test day at Victoria’s Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, ahead of this weekend’s opening round of the Motul
World Superbike Championship.

The first day of the official testing was spent working on minor set up tweaks including several full 18 lap race simulations to ensure the bike is set up to perform at its best under race conditions.

The 21-year-old New South Welshman explained that along with making minor adjustments he is working on developing his riding to get the full potential out of the bike. “Overall I’m very happy with how our first World Supersport official test is going” said Levy.

“We are on course right now with what direction we are taking and I’m positive that myself and the team can get the set up even better tomorrow, which should give us a good platform to work come Friday this week.”

Levy also explained that he is taking full of advantage of riding with some of the world’s best riders on track and learning from the much more experienced riders.

“It’s really good to be able to be on track with the best riders in the world. I have picked up a few new lines which seem to be working, so I’ll put that into use tomorrow and the rest of the
weekend.”

In the first practice session, Levy posted a 1min37.412, then improved his time by .511sec in the afternoon session, by stopping the clock with a 1min36.901, which saw Levy finishing in twentieth overall.

Team Principal, Sam Costanzo stated “I am happy with the progress of Mitch and the bike today, Mitch having performed a personal best time, I look forward to improving our performance tomorrow”

Two more practice sessions are scheduled for tomorrow, before the real action gets underway this Friday.
