Yamaha partners with MotoStars

Yamaha Motor Australia press release:

Yamaha Motor Australia is proud to announce an exclusive supply partnership with MotoStars, Australia’s leading junior road racing training academy.

The partnership will see MotoStars run a fleet of Yamaha motorcycles at all MotoStars ride days, coaching clinics and racing events.

Models of choice are the popular entry-level YZF-R15 and YZF-R3 LAMs models which also feature in the bLU cRU and YMF supported Oceania Junior Cup and YZF-R3 Cup national series.

MotoStars is owned and operated by former MotoGP racer Damian Cudlin. Cudlin’s commitment to nurturing Australia’s next generation of world champions has successfully changed the landscape of junior road racing in Australia. The MotoStars Series, which incorporates the Australian Junior Road Racing Championships, is on par with European series. Plans are now underway to do the same for Australian Supermoto racing with the 2019 Australian Supermoto Championships. Cudlin is also working with Motorcycling Australia as coach and mentor for the all-new Oceania Junior Cup series, ensuring the next generation of Aussie road racing champions receive quality advice and support.

“With Yamaha on board we have backing from the biggest supporter of motorcycle racing in Australia,” MotoStars manager Damian Cudlin explains. “And the tuning fork range is the perfect fit for both our ride day and junior coaching programs. Partnering with Yamaha means we can cater for riders of all ages and skill levels.”

Yamaha’s Sales and Marketing Manager Matt Ferry was equally excited to collaborate with MotoStars, adding: “Yamaha has a burning passion for motorsport with factory involvement from entry-level categories including the Oceania Junior Cup, all the way through to WSBK and MotoGP. Yamaha can provide a bike for every step of a racer’s journey. MotoStars helps riders get started and move onto the next level, which complements our R-family step-up strategy. So, this is a perfect fit.”

The partnership will see Yamaha YZF-R15 motorcycles available for hire at MotoStars ride days, as well as at racing events. MotoStars staff will use Yamaha YZF-R3 for junior coaching to demonstrate the next step of their Yamaha journey, while Yamaha’s YZF-R1 superbike will be used for senior road race coaching, with YZ450F for supermoto and flat track training.
