The 2009 Honda CBR600RR proves just how good a sportsbike can be, and features a list of improvements from its Championship winning predecessor.

Clearly influenced by Honda’s MotoGP campaign and the CBR1000RR Fireblade, the fourth generation CBR600RR was developed with the twin philosophies of ultra light weight and easy and precise handling.

Among the changes for 2009 are updates to the CBR600’s searingly quick and ultra-compact engine, which have increased the torque delivered from 8,000 rpm to 12,000 rpm to give extra mid range performance and even better driveability and flexibility.

Weight savings in the engine, exhaust and chassis have ensured that the CBR600RR is one of the lightest machines in its class.

Subtle but significant changes have been made to the fairing with a new undercowl, more precise sculpting and new air vents added to create a more effective airflow at medium and high speeds to improve stability and cornering.

The 2009 brake set-up features new and advanced radially mounted four piston monoblock calipers with 310mm front discs that give sensational stopping power and feel whilst reducing weight.

The CBR600RR is one of Honda’s most popular sports bikes, and the 2009 model featuresenhanced performance both as an accessible road-going machine and a proven race winner.

The 2009 CBR600RR retails for $15,990 at Honda Dealers nationally, and comes in Graphite Black/Italian Red and Graphite Black/Silver.
