Ducati has revealed that its 1198 S superbike will enter the 2010 model year with a bold new trio of colour schemes to distinguish its bodywork, frame and wheels.

The new year’s 1198 S retains its successful formula of the 1198cc Testastretta Evoluzione L-twin engine, developing 125kW and a class-busting 131.4Nm torque, and standard-equipment electronics that include eight-mode DTC traction control and DDA data analysis.

Also familiar, and exclusive to the S, is the race-quality Öhlins 43mm front forks and Öhlins rear coil-over damper.

The 2010 model year palette is designed to showcase the 1198 S’s Superbike racing heritage, with its bodywork for the upcoming year set to be available in Pearl White, Red or high-gloss Midnight Black.

The 2010 S model is also immediately identifiable by its red-painted frame and black wheels with red rim stripe.
