Aprilia's Dorsoduro Factory will be released in Australia next month.

If Aprilia revolutionized the supermoto segment with the Dorsoduro, they have now gone further with the Dorsoduro Factory.

Aprilia have never used the term ‘Factory’ lightly, in the language used by enthusiasts it refers to elite motorcycles fitted with the latest of technology and the world’s best components, the Dorsoduro Factory definitely meets that criteria.

From the beginning the design of the Dorsoduro Factory was intended to stand out, mission accomplished. The red chassis and the carbon fiber top structure underline the sporty nature of the Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory whilst the long flat seat facilitates the supermoto maneuvers, the compact tail fairing which comprises of a dual exhaust system creates even weight distribution and an aggressive style.

The powerhouse of this machine is an Aprilia 750cc 90-degree V-twin engine along with an engine management system which uses the latest generation Ride By Wire system complete with triple mapping. With thanks to the advanced electronic and mechanical technology used by Aprilia in this motorcycle, the Dorsoduro Factory produces a claimed 92 horsepower at 8750rpm and 82Nm at 4500rpm.

The chassis is derived from the experience that Aprilia has gained during its domination of Supermoto race championships, a tubular steel frame with aluminum side plates and high-resistance bolts result in a rigid yet light ride, the best solution for controlling the power that the Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory produces.

The suspension is entirely new on the Dorsosduro Factory and features Sachs 43mm upside down fork with shell-cast brackets to support the radial calipers. Adjustable spring preload and hydraulic brake rebound damping and compression are also a feature of this race derived machine.

The new gas-operated lateral piggy back shock absorber directly pivoted to the swingarm, as per the catilever layout, with adjustable spring preload and hydraulic compression and rebound damping. It is a sophisticated element which allows more experienced riders to reach more advanced performance levels.

The best of current braking technology can be found on the Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory; the front system uses the new Brembo 4 piston radial calipers. The 320mm floating ‘wave’ discs are lightweight, ensuring shorter stopping times and emphasizing the aggressive braking style.

The 240mm rear disc is also of the ‘wave’ type and is operated via a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear systems have metal braided braking lines for maximum braking feel and consistency.

The Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory will definitely turn heads whether it is on the circuit or sitting at the local café, at just $16,490.00 plus on road costs it is time for you to get the attention you desire.

The Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory will be available in Australia in June 2010.
