JSA announces details on Aprilia RSV4 A-PRC release

The electronics-packed RSV4 A-PRC models are soon coming to Oz.

Aprilia has sent us through these details on the brand new RSV4 A-PRC:

Aprilia will release an up-spec RSV4 Factory in 2011, featuring a whole heap of electronic advancements.

Aprilia will release an up-spec RSV4 Factory in 2011, featuring a whole heap of electronic advancements.

John Sample Automotive, Australian importers for Aprilia, has announced the pricing and arrival dates of the all-new electronics packed 2011 Aprilia RSV4 range.

Designated the RSV4 A-PRC for ‘Aprilia Performance Ride Control’ the A-PRC system encompasses what the factory claims is the most advanced electronics package ever offered by Aprilia.

The A-PRC electronics package is a highly sophisticated engine torque control system that helps improve performance and safety for the rider by a four-way system that includes ATC (Aprilia Traction Control), AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control), ALC (Aprilia Launch Control) and AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift).

2010 World Superbike Champion Max Biaggi has attributed a lot of the success that lead to he’s and the RSV4’s dominance of last year’s Championship to this very electronics system that now appears on the production bikes.

Aprilia claims that this would be one of the most rapid race track to production programs in the company’s history.

The 2011 model range will again be made up of two versions the highly speced RSV4 Factory with A-PRC and the more price friendly RSV4 R also with A-PRC. While non A-PRC versions will remain in the range the standard non electronics models won’t be seen in Australia until next year.

It seems that Aprilia is keen to take advantage of their world championship year and have priced these new upspeced 2011 models even better than what the 09/10 models sold for. Perhaps thanks also to the strength of the Aussie dollar.

The new range will be available from June with the following prices:

Aprilia RSV4 Factory A-PRC S.E
$29,990 + orc (available from June 2011)

Aprilia RSV4 Factory A-PRC
$29,990 + orc (available from July 2011)

Aprilia RSV4 R A-PRC
$22,990 + orc (available from June 2011)

When Aprilia launched this new A-PRC model last November in Europe they also announced a limited production of a S.E. (Special Edition) version of which only 350 were ever made.

Australia have secured just 10 such bikes which will be the very first 10 RSV4 Factories to be sold in Australia and which will feature the unique Green, White and Red celebratory graphics of the WSBK World Championship.

According to JSA there is no price premium on these first ten Special Edition bikes so you will have to be quick to secure one.

The RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition has absorbed all of the racing expertise gathered during the successful 2010 season where Aprilia and world championship winning rider Max Biaggi proved that a new comer put a bike together that sets a new standard for future road bike development.

Now with the introduction of the A-PRC we are seeing the next evolution in high performance supersports.

The APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) package, featuring a state of the art dynamic performance control system that makes Superbike winning technology available to professional racing riders and hobby riders alike. All this comes in an easy to use, intuitive package which includes:

  • ATC: Aprilia Traction Control automatically adjusts to different types of tyres, with 8 settings conveniently selectable while racing from a joystick on the left handlebar without turning down the throttle
  • AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control with three settings
  • ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, for use on the track only, with 3 settings
