Superbike class rookie confirms he will line up at round four.
Next Gen Motorsports BMW’s Troy Guenther has decided to line up in this weekend’s Darwin round of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli.
The premier class rookie was in doubt for Hidden Valley after a major incident while testing in the Top End, but managed to climb back aboard his S 1000 RR on Thursday and has been declared fit to race.
“We shook everything down on Thursday and I’m going to ride,” Guenther told CycleOnline.com.au. “It will be a little bit tender, but it got better as we went on – the more laps I did, the better I felt. I think Friday and the weekend will be really good actually. I’ll just ride through it and it shouldn’t really be an excuse not to perform.”
Guenther injured his left hand, right ankle and groin in the fall during morning warm-up at a recent Top End Road Racing Association (TERRA) endurance event, which destroyed his race bike and left him hospitalised overnight under observation.
