Tech3 Racing regular sets sights on return to Moto2 grid.
Australia’s Remy Gardner has undergone successful surgery on his double leg break sustained in a motocross training incident this week, now on the road to recovery in a bid to return to racing.
Gardner remains hospitalised in Barcelona, Spain, however a brief announcement released overnight has confirmed that the Tech3 Racing Moto2 World Championship regular’s operation was a success.
“Remy was successfully operated on at Barca Hospital following the incident earlier this week,” explained Wayne Gardner. “The operation, whilst complex, went well and the immediate signs are positive. Remy has already begun some light physio, but is understandably in some discomfort.
“He will remain under observation in hospital for the next few days before hopefully being released later in the week. Although no date or timescale has been set for his return to the Moto2 World Championship with Tech3 at this time, Remy is already talking about getting back on track.”
Gardner is currently 12th in the Moto2 standings following the opening three rounds, with a timeline on his return to the grid yet to be decided upon post-surgery. Tech3 Racing has called in CEV regular Hector Garzo for this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.
