Two commanding British Superbike (BSB) race wins for Jason O’Halloran at Donington Park provided a timely boost for the McAMS Yamaha rider, confirming things are coming together with the 2022 Yamaha R1.

While O’Halloran showed promising pace throughout the pre-season, the multi-time BSB race winner was unable to stand on the podium in the first two rounds of 2022.

Despite sixth being the O’Halloran’s best result at Oulton Park, the Australian made a setup change during the final race of round two, which he believed to be a positive direction.

The number 22’s strong 2-1-1 scorecard at Donington’s round three confirmed the direction found in the previous round and elevated him to P2 in the championship standings.

“It’s been an amazing weekend, we nearly won yesterday, it was so close and then to take a double win today is excellent,” O’Halloran explained. “Two pole positions, two wins and a second shows that all the hard work is paying off.

“I want to say a massive thanks to everyone from the team, when you are working through things and testing things when you are racing it’s never easy but this weekend things have really started to come together.

“That was probably the best I’ve ever felt on this bike, the way I could come through the pack, get to the front and pull away everything just worked. You have to enjoy these days as they don’t come around all the time, I’m super pleased with it so I can’t wait to get a test under our belt now ahead of the next few rounds.”
