Motorcycling Australia (MA) has released its annual national racing calendar for 2014, with Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) dates provisionally absent from the schedule.

Current promoter International Entertainment Group (IEG) had been confirmed to be retaining the series over two months ago (click here for details), however that decision has again been cast into doubt.

Speculation has been building that the MA’s Superbike series will merge with Australian Road & Track Rider Promotions’ rebranded Australasian Superbike Championship (ASC) next year, amongst multiple alternating rumours emerging by the day.

The ASBK calendar was to be released “shortly” according to a Facebook post on 10 October by IEG managing director Yarrive Konsky, but it is yet to surface as MA scrambles to cement a structure for 2014.

This week MA’s announcement says the Australian Superbike and supercross series – both currently promoted by IEG – calendars “are expected to be released in the coming weeks”.
